Take A Next Step

Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

Romans 6:3-4

What is Baptism?

In baptism, we tell the story of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. And we publicly profess that because of what Jesus did for us, we are no longer defined by our past and our sin, but have been given new life and freedom. Baptism is also a step of obedience, as Jesus himself was baptized and asks us to follow his example.

"Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it." Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.

Mark 10:14-16

What is Child Dedication?

Child Dedication is an opportunity for parents to publicly declare their intent to raise their child in a way that honors God. In many ways a "child dedication" is actually a "parent dedication" service, where parents declare their desire to create a home of faith until the child is old enough to make their own personal choice to follow Jesus. It's also a time were the church family at Mountain View commits itself to partnering with you in this vital task.
